Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the transformation of the competence approach in the context of the digital society and its role as the basis for modernising the training of electricity specialists in higher education institutions. The relevance of the study is due to the rapid development of digital technologies that change the requirements for the professional competencies of power engineers. The purpose of the article is to substantiate the impact of digital transformation on the content, methods and structure of training future specialists in the industry and to determine the potential of the updated competence-based approach for the qualitative modernisation of the educational process. The article states the profound and systemic impact of digital transformation on all aspects of training energy specialists, including the need to integrate digital technologies into professional training, update the content of basic courses, ensure interdisciplinarity, create guidelines for the use of digital platforms and simulators, introduce interactive teaching methods, ensure mobility and flexibility of educational trajectories, update educational programmes, strengthen interaction with the IT sector and industry, and form a new generation of energy specialists. The article proves the effectiveness of the competence-based approach and suggests prospects for further improving the effectiveness of practical training through the use of direct connection to energy facility management systems and visualisation of production processes.
