The article is devoted to the study of psychological mechanisms of emotional intelligence influence on management processes in educational institutions. In the context of management system transformation and increasing requirements for the effectiveness of the educational environment, emotional intelligence is considered an important resource for optimising the professional activities of managers and teaching staff. The article defines the essence of the concept of ‘emotional intelligence’, analyses its key components and reveals their connection with management decision-making, motivation, communication and conflict resolution. Particular attention is paid to the psychological mechanisms of emotion regulation, empathy, self-control, and social interaction, which directly affect the quality of educational institution management. It is shown that the development of emotional intelligence contributes to increasing the level of trust, creating a positive psychological climate, and forming the leadership potential of managers. It is substantiated that neglecting the development of emotional competence can lead to destructive management practices, reduced staff motivation, and conflict within the team. It is concluded that the integration of emotional intelligence development into management activities is a necessary condition for the effectiveness of educational management and the sustainable development of educational institutions. Directions for further research aimed at developing practical programmes to improve the emotional competence of managers and teaching staff are proposed.
