Modern conditions of the labor market and the reform of the education system create the necessity for students to learn effective self-employment, as well as to activate their cognitive activities, taking into account the nature of each disci-pline. Based on the analysis of existing forms, methods and means of teaching, as well as the experience of teachers, a project method and business games were chosen for teaching disciplines in the field of conformity assessment for students of senior courses in engineering and technical specialties. To solve these problems, a business game scenario was devel-oped, involving participation of 15 to 25 students and imitating the process of certification of products. Under the conditions of the game, students were divided into 5 game groups: «enterprise», «certification body», «laboratory», «group of auditors» and «commission for appeals». Also, a scheme for interaction between game groups and tasks for each of them was devel-oped. As a result of the game, each group of students must prepare and arrange the appropriate package of documents (draft). To evaluate the results of each student's work, a differential method for calculating the final grade is proposed, taking into account the analysis of the leading teacher, the analysis of finished projects by other teachers, the reflection of stu-dents. The testing of the business game was conducted with two training groups of specialties 152 and 133. Anonymous questioning was used to assess the qualitative results of the business game, in which students were asked to assess the quality of teaching (practical skills, theoretical knowledge, social activity, connection with the profession, interest in disci-pline, motivation for learning) in comparison with classroom practical exercises. The results of the approbation testify to the positive experience of the use of the business game and the method of projects in the training of senior students of engi-neering and technical specialties, as well as on improving the quality of their education.
